Nine brave souls set out to conquer Wigtownshire County. We arrived before ten to fuel up with a bacon roll and coffee, but the weather had other plans. As we gathered our sticks, the rain began—and it barely let up all day, relenting only briefly for a couple of holes.
Undeterred, Dave Aitken, Ashley, Tony, John and Wave pressed on through the downpour, showing true grit in testing conditions. It was a day for perseverance as much as skill. Brian, Ronnie, Terry and Dave Nielsen, however, were forced to concede defeat halfway round.
A special well done to Ashley, whose excellent round of 39 points secured the trophy—an outstanding achievement in such miserable weather. John narrowly missed out with a fine round of 36 points.
